Husense is a Dutch deep-tech startup designing the radar + AI stack that powers smart cities, sports analytics, intelligent buildings, and advanced defense perception. Our sensors see what cameras can’t — 24x7, in any weather, with privacy at source.

We’re hiring a Radar AI Engineer who wants to ship. You’ll own the full AI pipeline end-to-end: raw FMCW/MIMO signal in, deployed embedded model out. Real hardware. Real customers. Real impact.

01 — THE WORK

What you’ll actually do

Train the models. Design and train deep-learning networks for radar perception, multi-target tracking, 3D ego-motion, activity recognition, and vital-signs detection.
Ship them to the edge. Squeeze those models onto edge hardware (ONNX, TensorRT, edge TPUs) so they run on the sensor itself — not only in a datacenter.
Own the signal stack. Build the FMCW / MIMO / beamforming pipelines that feed clean radar data into your models.
Prove it outside the lab. Validate in stadiums, smart buildings, and defense platforms. If it doesn’t work outside, it doesn’t ship.
Work shoulder-to-shoulder. With founders, customers, and academic partners (incl. TU Delft).
02 — THE PERSON

You’ll thrive here if you

  • Hold an MSc or PhD in AI/ML, EE, Signal Processing, CS, or a related field — and can prove you ship, not just publish.
  • Are fluent in PyTorch (or TensorFlow), Python, and ideally Rust or C/C++ for embedded deployment.
  • Have hands-on experience deploying ML on resource-constrained hardware.
  • Like a small, fast team where “I don’t know yet” is acceptable and “I’ll figure it out” is mandatory.
  • Care about privacy-first technology and are comfortable with dual-use (commercial + responsible defense) applications.
  • Are EU-based or eligible to work in the Netherlands (we sponsor highly-skilled-migrant visas for the right candidate).
Bonus points
  • Radar background: FMCW, MIMO, mmWave, or other RF sensing.
  • Track record in human activity recognition, multi-target tracking, or autonomous perception.
  • Published work, open-source contributions, or strong R&D-to-product war stories.
  • Sensor-fusion experience (radar + camera, radar + IMU, etc.).
